As Chair of the School of Modern Languages at Georgia Institute of Technology, Professor Anna Westerstahl Stenport leads a dynamic unit of 70 faculty and staff focused on advanced language learning, cross-cultural competence, and global engagement. This includes two Master’s programs in Global Media & Cultures and Applied Languages & Intercultural Studies and a growing curriculum in Iranian, Persian, and Middle Eastern and North African Studies. Holding a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Stenport’s expertise includes Arctic studies, transnational cinema and media, modern literature and drama, and visual and cultural studies.
